FATAL LOTTERY OF A HAIRY SOUL - in the streets

In September 2024 I was a part of the international performance festival Live Action. Jonas Stampe wrote this amazing text about my work, welcome to read.

For 2 hours on Friday and 2 hours on Saturday I invited people on the streets of Gothenburg to take part in the interactive performance FATAL LOTTERY OF A HAIRY SOUL where I invite them to cut a piece of my hair. A lot of people dared to participate.

This is the text I read for every participant

“For 24 years I have had this hair. It has grown on my head. It carries memories, feelings and vanity.

For 52 years I have had this soul. I believe it carries the truth.

And yet, I do not know the truth.

The longer my hair grows, the smaller my soul gets. There is too much hair on my hairy soul.

HOW MUCH HAIR DO WE NEED TO CUT BEFORE WE REACH THE TRUTH?

Tonight, I invite you all, one by one, to cut pieces of my hair. Together we will start the liberation of my hairy soul.

However, the truth does not come without costs. Therefore I will give you money. I will spin this fortune wheel and it will decide how much money you will get. It will also decide which tool you are allowed to use : 20, 50, 100 or 5
